What to Know Before You Go to PorchFest in Owensboro Saturday

PorchFest OBKY is coming up this Saturday, June 11th on Griffith Avenue here in Owensboro. This year's event will feature multiple acts on twelves different porches and thousands of folks are expected to take in some live music and delicious food from the food trucks and vendors.

I reached out to Tamarra Miller, who, alongside Andy Brasher, is one of the co-creators of the event here in Owensboro. Since she's basically a professional PorchFest planner, I asked her to share her pro tips about how best to experience the festival. Here's what she suggests!

TEN THINGS YOU MUST BRING TO OR GET AT PORCHFEST

#1- WALKING SHOES- to cover as much ground as possible.

#2- CHAIRS- to secure the most comfortable and best viewing experience

#3- CASH- to tip the artists and snag some merch

#4- SUNBLOCK- to protect you from that sun (and the forecast calls for a lot of it)

#5- UMBRELLA- because let's face it, it's rained every single year of the event

#6- APPETITE- for the12 different food vendors and food trucks scheduled to attend

#7- PHONE/CAMERA- to take & post as many pictures as possible

And one more final tip for you.

#10- PARKING- For PorchFest OBKY parking, all side streets will be open and available for parking. But you are asked to please be mindful of driveways. Plus, another option is this- Owensboro High School is hosting a parking fundraiser and, for convenience, you can park at the school.
