Puzzle Pieces' Galentine's BUNCO Party Coming to Owensboro

In December, we had our annual Townsquare Evansville/Owensboro Christmas Party at the Party Space Place here in town. We typically rotate our parties between the two cities and each time it's scheduled for Owensboro, my friend Traci and I are in charge of the planning. This year, we decided to enlist the help of our friend Maria Kelley (Nona's) to cater a huge buffet and we staged a huge BUNCO game.

Now, in case you've never played BUNCO, it's an exhilarating and incredibly frustrating dice game. Think Yahtzee without that little barrel and fewer dice to roll.

'Here are the basic rules for BUNCO. I thought about typing them out, but found this video on YouTube and thought I would share it instead.

Now, I'll be honest. I have gone to Bunco parties. Heck, back in college, I even hosted a Bunco party at my apartment for all of my coworkers at the Old Spaghetti Factory. It's an absolute blast, but can also drive you insane. I'm a super-competitive person and this game will turn me into a cursing demon seed faster than any other game I've ever played. LOL!

Well, Puzzle Pieces here in Owensboro just announced they're having a big Bunco fundraiser. It's going to coincide (well, kind of) with Galentine's Day. As Amanda Owen, the Executive Director of Puzzle Pieces says, "Technically, Galentine's Day is February 13th, but we're celebrating a little early."

By the way, the idea for Galentine's Day originated on the NBC show, Parks & Recreation. And, Puzzle Pieces is "all about women and celebrating women" so the all-female administrative team decided that a night of ladies-only Bunco would be a blast!

The Galentine's Bunco Night is set for Thursday, February 10th and the location will be announced ASAP. There will be prizes, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy. Tickets are $25 (plus taxes and fees) per person and are on sale now. There's a limit of 150 tickets and, as of this story, approximately 40 of them have been sold.
