The WOMI Morning Show had the pleasure of speaking with Kentucky Senator Rand Paul.  During the interview he stressed on the National Security Agency (NSA) and his feelings about the program itself.

Of course, there are a slew of things in the news about immigration reform.  Rand Paul joined Fox News as well as CNN speaking on his main objections to the immigration bill.  Senator Paul voted NO to the bill that passed 62-38. His main objections reflected that immigration reform should be dependent on border security first.  He said "Secure the border and have congress vote on if the border is secure before we go further with the process".

Speaking on the WOMI Morning Show, Senator Paul said that they instituted a program to look at people visiting with a student visa from 25 different countries, that have significant Islamic Extremism. This program was put in place right after 9-11 but noticed that the students overstayed their visas.  President Obama de-funded the program.

Speaking on the Information Edward Snowden released about the NSA watching over the people of the United States.  The Senator says that he is all for going after terrorists as long as there is evidence.  The 4th amendment is in place to guard against unreasonable searches and seizures.  Senator Paul thinks that the 4th Amendment should be used.  The people are supposedly being monitored by the NSA in an effort to prevent terrorism.  It seems though that this is a major invasion of privacy.

The full interview will be on the WOMI Morning Show, Tuesday July 2nd at 6:20 and 7:20 AM.
