The date has been set for the end of the school year for students in the Owensboro Public School System.

- On May 23rd the school year will end.  The school board approved a calendar that called for graduation for Owensboro High School on May 23rd at the SportsCenter.  David Johnson, assistant superintendent for pupil personnel, maintenance and transportation said Gov. Steve Beshear signed House Bill 211 on Monday.  The bill requires that the school offers 1,062 hours of instruction.  With some of the days already made up the school system will be allowed to end May 23rd. Final Day for faculty will be June 3rd

As for Daviess County Schools, they will be in session until May 30th with the High School Graduation that evening at the SportsCenter.  Beacon Central will graduate at 10 a.m. May 21st at Good Shepherd Church. Final Day for faculty will be June 5th.
