See Inside-Cool Pics From Renovated Patti’s 1880’s Settlement (GALLERY)
Angel here and for as long as I can remember Patti's 1880's Settlement was one of my favorite destinations in Kentucky. From inch thick pork chops to flowerpot bread to mile-high meringue pies I could go on and on.
Patti's is located in Grand Rivers, Kentucky about three miles off the interstate. The first time I visited was in high school during a weekend soccer trip to Kentucky Lake. I've been hooked ever since.
Patti's was the first out-of-town adventure Joe and I took when we started dating. We spent the weekend eating food, strolling through the town, and taking in the sights. I truly fell in love with Joe, even more, that weekend. I was surprised and excited to find out an outing and love story just like ours is what started it all.
Bill and Patti Tullar visited Grand Rivers in 1972 and loved the town so much that they purchased a small motel there. Just five years later they decided along with some friends to open Patti's Hamburger and Ice Cream Parlor. Eventually, they outgrew the small shop they were in and started turning motel rooms into dining rooms.
Bill Tullar wanted a business of his own so they built Mr. Bills which was more of an entertainment venue and restaurant all in one.
The food is delicious but the fine service and atmosphere is what brings people back time after time.
Patti's has always been a family kind of place. We welcome the little ones and planned for their entertainment by adding a small animal walk through park, 18 hole miniature golf, a playground, mining and remote control boats.
Today, our two restaurants serve over 350,000 people each year, in our little town of 350 people. People come from many states for our great food, beautiful gardens and Patti's great southern hospitality. Our log cabin settlement offers a wide variety of shopping with names such as Brighton, Fontanini, Spartina, Anju, Lizzy James and Music of the Spheres Chimes.
A few years ago Patti's suffered a devasting fire and had to close completely. They renovated the entire restaurant and Joe and I got to visit this past weekend. I took some pictures and even made sure to snap some photos of our food.
