‘SNL’ Preview: Lena Dunham and Kate McKinnon Bring the ‘Girls’
This past weekend's March 'SNL' premiere with first-time host Jim Parsons of 'The Big Bang Theory' proved something of a misfire, but a little awkwardness never scared off 'Girls' creator and star Lena Dunham. The always-buzzing HBO star officially hit the Studio 8H stage for her first round of 'SNL' promos, and if you're wondering if there's nudity, we saved you the trouble!
Our long look at Lena Dunham's first 'SNL' hosting turn sees the 'Girls' star partnered up with Kate McKinnon, both celebrating their respective feminism in the best way possible: dance! Other takes see Kate vying for a part in future 'Girls' episodes, while Dunham pokes fun at her own reputation for being controlling behind the camera. And wouldn't you know it, the nudity issue of course comes into play, but not as you might think.
The March 8 installment will also see The National acting as musical guest, the Brooklyn band's own first time on the long-running NBC series. Most of the new additions this season settled in it seems, though we're certainly hoping for a little more from 'Weekend Update' anchor Colin Jost, filling the seat vacated by Seth Meyers for a future in 'Late Night.'
Time will tell if Lena Dunham's comedy stylings translate to 'SNL,' so take a look at the promos above, and give us your predictions in the comments!
