Trent Peveler is a source of inspiration for many. I follow this wonderful man on social media, and he just has a way with words. I knew Trent would be the perfect Dad to celebrate this Father's Day. Maybe you need to be uplifted today too!

Inspirational Message from Trent's Facebook Page:

"Tell the ones around you how much they mean to you. You might be the one to turn that persons day around. Life is full of struggles and the best medicine is people who care."

I had the chance to chat with Trent this weekend to discuss what this Father's Day means to him. I lost my Dad just a couple of hours after Father's Day in 2013, and I miss him so very much. He was the most amazing Dad, just like Trent. I have to admit it took longer to write this. Had to stop a few times for a good cry. It's important to "share each other".

This is a very tough situation to go through for Trent and his family. Especially for his daughter Courtney. First thing I wanted to know is how Trent is doing.

Trent shares, "I have been down lately due to the amount of radiation and chemo that I have been doing, so I've made the decision to stop chemo treatments for next couple of weeks. I am so sore from the chemo that it hurts to move, breath, talk or to do anything. I am fighting with everything I've got to try and get back on my feet. Depending on how I feel in the next couple of weeks, will determine to try more chemo or call it quits."

As a Father it has to be hard, after hospital visits and chemo treatments, to miss your daughters events. Courtney just performed in Nashville during CMA Fest, and I know Trent would be there if he could. It has to be so difficult to miss out on these important milestones. Trent said, "My daughter keeps me motivated. I'm fighting to get to see her graduate this year. It was hard to miss her playing at CMA Fest last week." He went on to add, "God gave me the most awesome daughter any Dad could ask for."

Inspirational Message from Trent's Facebook Page:

"We take for granted so many little things we do every day, until you get sick and can’t do them anymore."

It's so important to make memories with your family, because we don't know how many days the Lord will give us. I asked Trent to share one of your favorite memories spent with his family. He didn't hesitate. "Hands down, Disney World when Courtney was young. I'll always cherish our time together."

Inspirational Message from Trent's Facebook Page:

"Always remember a better day is coming when you think you can’t take it anymore. God bless and hope everyone has a good day."

I asked Trent to share something that he's learned, after his cancer diagnosis and battle. What should other Dads learn from you this Father's Day whether they are sick or what to appreciate if healthy? "Live every second to the fullest and don’t stress over small stuff that doesn’t matter in the end.  Your life can change in a second and you can never go back to the way things used to be."

I asked him what he would want his legacy to be? Trent replied, "That I was a person who treated people fairly and I hope that I've instilled that in Courtney. And that part of me lives on thru her."

Trent closed with this inspirational message, not only to Dads, but for all of us! "Don’t wait until tragedy strikes to tell those who mean so much to you, how you feel. The main thing is to show your heart so others suffering can have a relatable moment with you."

I think it's safe to say that we've had many relatable moments with you throughout the years. Praying for healing, comfort, and clarity for you dear man. We'll be thinking of you and your beautiful family in the days, weeks and months ahead. God Bless.

Throughout her life and music, your legacy will on through Courtney.
