Survey Reveals the Effect of ‘Jersey Shore’ on New Jersey’s Reputation
New Jersey has survived the hard-drinking, fist-pumping antics of the ‘Jersey Shore’ cast with its reputation intact.
In fact, according to a new poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University, people who watch ‘Jersey Shore’ have a slightly better impression of the Garden State than those who refrain from Snookie and The Situation.
The poll of 711 adults, taken between March 21 and 27, revealed 43 percent of ‘Jersey Shore’ viewers had a favorable view of New Jersey, as opposed to 41 percent of non-viewers. Eighteen percent of both viewers and non-viewers gave New Jersey the thumbs down.
The poll also found that 69 percent of adults have never seen an episode of ‘Jersey Shore.’
