Yeah, warmer weather is nice, but it's prime conditions for snakes to pop up, especially on or near the pavement, like a walking trail. And a walking trail with water nearby.

I subscribe to an Owensboro neighborhood newsletter through Nextdoor.com and this post caught my eye. Yikes!

There are so many snakes that look very similar, here's a refresher on which ones are around in the state of Kentucky. Pay close attention to the water snakes that are mentioned and described.

Only four of the 32 types of snakes found around the state are venomous, copperheads, western cottonmouths, timber rattlesnakes, and western pigmy rattlesnakes.

I would say, no matter what type of snake you spot, stay away, very far away. Be careful out there.
