I must say that I love a good, entertaining conspiracy theory, but I also do prefer that it be based on facts. That's why I want to let you know that you might see an unmarked low-flying helicopter in Illinois soon. No reason to panic though. I think I know why.

There has never been an American earthquake like it and let's hope there never will be. The 1811 New Madrid earthquake in Missouri caused events that seem too incredible to be true, but they are. These are just a few of the after effects of that disastrous earthquake and it's aftershocks.

It was a very active month along the New Madrid Fault. A total of 45 measurable quakes were detected along the fault and many were large enough to be reported felt by many in the area.

It's been an interesting week along the New Madrid Fault part of America. Nearly a dozen measurable quakes were reported by the USGS along with a couple in strange locations.
