Teenage Gorilla At Popular Illinois Zoo Might Need To Be Grounded

A gorilla at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago is going through some teenage issues and might have to be grounded.

The More Teenagers Change More They Stay The Same

Isn't it funny how much teenagers change, the more they stay the same? I remember being that age and my parents yelling at me to go outside and play because I was watching too much television.

When I became a parent I would ask my daughter to get off her phone and go ride her bike outside. Kids and parents will always battle over screen time.

Rules At The Zoo Have Change Over The Years

I remember going to the zoo with my grandparents. Back then, they would let you feed some of the animals. My grandpa would throw marshmallows at the bears and see if they could catch them. Of course, you could never get away with that now.

New Rule Might Have To Be Enforced At Zoos

Sometime in the near future, you might be seeing more new rules enforced at your favorite zoos. The visitors might have to keep their cell phones away from some of the animals. For example, the gorillas because they are very curious about what humans are doing.

Gorilla At Lincoln Park Zoo Has Teenager Problems

It seems that a gorilla family at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago might have some of the same screen time issues that many parents face.

According to chicago.suntimes.com,

"Zoo officials hope a buffer zone will cut down on Amare watching videos and looking at photos on visitors’ cellphones."

 

"Amare’s cellphone distractions have grown more frequent in recent months."

 

"Zoo officials don’t want screen time to take away from an important pre-adult developmental period when the bachelors are learning how to interact with each other and, in essence, be gorillas."

 

If you ask me, that is pretty darn funny. So remember, if you visit a zoo this summer with your family. Please keep your phone away from the gorillas because they are getting too much screen time.
