I love the beach. But whenever I'm asked to pick one or the other, I always pick the mountains. I just like them a little better.

There is a much more beautiful range than the Great Smoky Mountains.

Tonight--Monday, June 1st, 2020--they will be even more beautiful (if that's possible) thanks to the various types of fireflies native to the area.

And we'll get to see these beautiful synchronous fireflies, thanks to the Virtual Fireflies Event presented by Discover Life in America.

Count me among those who had no idea there were such things as synchronous fireflies.

Just like when I was a kid, I still love going outside at night and just watching them.

So tonight, I'll take my laptop outside and do it again.
