Randy Wangler is the owner of Mean Muggin Movers. The company makes more than 3 round trips across the Glover Cary (Blue) Bridge in downtown Owensboro every single day. Wangler is just one of the many businesses and citizens who will be forced to take an 18 mile detour for 4 months this summer when the Blue Bridge is closed for resurfacing work

While nobody denies the bridge must be fixed, many question the wisdom of closing it entirely. Wangler encourages those in charge to instead close one lane at a time and keep the bridge open.

Tourism, businesses on both sides of the bridge and those who use the bridge to get to work and back each day will be forced to use the Natcher Bridge. In the case of Mean Muggin Movers that is 18 miles per trip with a minumum of 3 trips per day. The added time and fuel gets costly in a hurry.

Randy has posted a quite cleaver animated video about this situation. You can view it by clicking here

My guess is with enough support we can get the State of Kentucky to rethink the way they address the problem. Simply put, we need to keep at least one lane of the bridge open at all times.
