What's the first food you think of to throw on the grill? Burgers of course, well maybe hot dogs, however, a couple of prominent chefs are of the opinion burgers should NOT be grilled. And as you would think, this opinion did not go over well.

It all started with an article in Business Insider that popped up online earlier this week. This is actually the second time the publication has put out a "Do Not Grill" list.

The main reason top chefs say you shouldn't grill burgers is that all of the fat and other juices gets lost in the fire, which duh. You would be missing all of the flavors the meat has to offer. Top chefs, such as Bryan Voltaggio, who was on Top Chef, his brother Michael won season six, insist on using a plancha or flat top grill for burgers.

Well, not all of us have those. I figure it would also depend on what type of meat you use to grill as to how much fat would escape to the embers below.

The controversy doesn't end with just burgers. The top chefs are also against grilling: tortillas, peeled shrimp, skinless chicken breasts, sausage, thick cut bacon, and pineapples and peaches.

As far as I can tell, hot dogs are safe. Grill what you want.
