TRAFFIC ALERT: King Blvd. Closed Jan. 3, 2012

In an effort to keep our listeners and website viewers informed about traffic changes 1490 WOMI continues to work with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Today KTC made the following announcement:

" A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close Martin Luther King, Jr. Loop in Owensboro beginning on January 3, 2012. "

The closure is to allow the contractor to install a reinforced concrete box culvert across Martin Luther King, Jr. Loop.

This closure of Martin Luther King, Jr. Loop is between KY 2121/Southtown and KY 2931/Frederica Street. Signage and barricades will be set up to notify the driving public of the closure. MLK, Jr Loop is expected to be closed until approximately February 3, 2011, weather permitting. 

This is part of the KY 2121/Southtown Boulevard improvement project. T+C Contracting, Inc. of Louisville is the prime contractor.
