When I was a kid, I was obsessed with Sesame Street.  Seriously!  I think I watched it every single weekday.  In fact, I even had the Sesame Street playhouse from Fisher Price.  Remember that?  It folded open and there were apartments and a soda fountain shop and various Sesame Street character "little people."  By the way, for a little fun I looked these up on the internet.  You can actually still find vintage sets on Etsy and Ebay (for about $125).
Well, if you're a longtime Sesame Street like me and you also like to exercise, you're going to love this idea and opportunity.  There's a brand new virtual running challenge called The Get to Sesame Street Challenge.  I stumbled across it yesterday on Facebook. It gives anyone interested the chance to run, walk or hike 100 or 500 miles and "get" to Sesame Street.  Plus, as you participate and reach certain mileage, you earn "milestone pins" which feature Sesame Street characters like Elmo, Big Bird, Oscar, The Count and Grover.
For the 100-mile challenge, you have the opportunity to earn six milestone pins and the official "Get to Sesame Street" Finisher Medal.
The cost to participate is $99.95 and that entry fee covers the cost of pins, medals and your official Get to Sesame Street Challenge t-shirt. And the great news is this- you get to compete at your own pace and track your progress through the Virtual Running Club's official website.
If you'd like to sign up for the 100-mile challenge, CLICK HERE!
If you're feeling really frisky and want to shoot for the 500-mile challenge, CLICK HERE!
Like the theme song goes, "Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?"  Well, it looks like all you have to do is run there!
