Watch the Commercial for the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra’s First Ever TV Special
When I was a student at Kentucky Wesleyan College, I was a member of the KWC Singers. We were asked to sing in the annual Christmas concert with the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra. I still remember that concert incredibly well. It was held in the auditorium of Daviess County High School, where I graduated from just a year or two before. Singing with the orchestra was tremendous. We loved it and so did the folks who were sitting in the audience. There's not much more magical during the holiday season than the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra playing your favorite holiday hits.
That tradition, despite the curve balls 2020 has thrown at us, will continue this year- with the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra's first-ever TV special. Here's an official sneak preview.
The special, called Safe at Home for the Holidays, will air at 7pm CST, Saturday, December 12th on KET/PBS. The show will also be available on streaming services from 14 WFIE and the OSO's YouTube channel.
As usual Maestro Troy Quinn will be conducting and the Owensboro Symphony will playing orchestral versions of your favorite Christmas classics, including excerpts from The Grinch and The Nutcracker. Plus, the concert will feature guest vocalist Michael Preacely.
Naturally, we have to give a holiday shout out to the arts supporters who made the program possible. According to the OSO, funding for the program "was made possible by Aleris with additional support from Riley and John Hess, Atmos Energy, Messenger-Inquirer, the City of Owensboro, Daviess County Fiscal Court, and the Kentucky Arts Council."
So round up the family and enjoy the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra's Safe at Home for the Holidays!
