Head to the southwest corner of Wisconsin on the Mississippi River, about 50 miles north of the Illinois border, you'll find Wyasulang State Park. Like many other, areas along the Mississippi River, the Midwestern flatlands, transform into, bluffs, cliffs, and other majestic geographical features along the banks of the river.

It's in these undulating forests, and jagged rocks, is the Sand Cave Trail, an easy, 2-mile in-and-out trail that features, steep climbs, a waterfall, and 2 walk-in caves. It's truly a hidden gem in the southwestern corner of the Dairy State.

Let's take a look at what you'll find along the beautiful Sand Cave Trail.

The majority of the Sand Cave Trail is a nice easy walking path through the rolling forests leading up to the Mississippi River. A beautiful hike in the fall when the leaves are changing colors.

Towards the end of the mile hike to the river, you'll begin to encounter some steep cliffs and bluffs. You'll want to muster up the energy to climb, because what awaits you on the other side is what you came to see.

The trail winds down to the river, and along the way you can walk along stone that has been carved by the river over millions of years.

There are even two caves to explore along the way. They're not huge, but as you can see, they're large enough for a little bit of exploring.

A waterfall greets you towards the end of the hike. The flow of the waterfall varies depending on the amount of rain recently in the area, but it's always a beautiful sight.
