We have only been back in school a couple weeks, and the whole family is already worn out. This weekend, everyone around my house has been snuffly.  All the stress and excitement of a new school year coupled with exposure to more people equals the back to school yucks!  I especially hate this kind of bug because it is bad enough to make you feel gross, but not so bad that you have to stay home from school and work.  At least, that’s what I tell myself.

But, perhaps God is using this crud to show us that we need to slow down a little.  God designed our bodies to require rest every day.  If we are listening to our bodies, we will rest and sleep.  If we are faithful to God, we will not lose sleep due to worry or busyness.

"In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for He grants sleep to those he loves." Psalm 127:2

God loves us and will provide for us when we put our focus and faith in Him.  My late nights and early mornings which seem so necessary, are really a waste if they lead to illness.  So with this stuffy nose to remind me of this lesson, I am now heading to bed.  Praise God for rest, physically and spiritually!
