Western Kentucky Judge-Executive Calling For KSP, Correctional Officer Pay Increase [VIDEO]
Did you know Kentucky State Police and state correctional officers are the lowest paid out of the seven surrounding states? One Western Kentucky Judge-Executive is campaigning to change that.
According to Lyon County Judge-Executive Wade White, these state employees have not had a pay raise since 2008. State troopers receive the least pay in comparison to the average pay for the seven surrounding border states. Correctional officers have a 67 percent turn-over rate.
White has created a website and video to raise awareness on the issue.
Governor-Elect Matt Bevin has also been a huge proponent of the pay raise.
