Almost three weeks after the city of Beaver Dam voted to go wet, a date has been set for a county-wide vote on the wet/dry issue.

According to SurfKy News, a county-wide local option election for alcohol sales will take place Tuesday, April 12th. Ohio County Judge-Executive David Johnston made the executive order.

Both a paper and an electronic petition were brought about to get the special election. Johnston said Attorney General Jack Conway sent a letter to the the county stating there were no laws prohibiting the use of an electronic petition. The paper petition had over 1,300 names, the electronic version, 1,565 names, so the electronic one was counted towards the goal of 1,317 verified signatures.

The ballot on April 12th will simply ask, "Are you in favor of the sale of alcoholic beverages in Ohio County, Kentucky?"
