Five-time Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter, veteran correspondent and producer for top television news shows, Peter Lance, will be George's guest. They will discuss how the FBI blew it with respect to vetting Tamerlan Tsarnaev. He will get into how little has changed in terms of how we fight terror since 911 in spite of our loss of freedoms through Homeland Security measures.

Mario Livio will also be on the show. His book, "Brilliant Blunders: From Darwin to Einstein – Colossal Mistakes by Great Scientists That Changed Our Understanding of Life and the Universe". It's about the lives of five eminent scientists – Charles Darwin, William Thomson (Lord Kelvin), Linus Pauling, Fred Hoyle, and Albert Einstein. He claims that although each made groundbreaking contributions to his field, they all made huge mistakes as well, which were a necessary part of the scientific process. He will explain why errors are an essential part of achieving breakthroughs, whether it’s in science, business, or the arts. And why innovative ideas (in any field) require a willingness to take risks.

Leonard Mlodinow, co-author with Steven Hawking of the best-seller Brief History of Time,  will discuss his work on the power of the subliminal, and how the unconscious mind shapes our experience of the world including your preference in politicians, and the amount you tip your waiter. All judgments and perceptions reflect the workings of our mind on two levels: the conscious, of which we are aware, and the unconscious, which is hidden from us. The latter has long been the subject of speculation, but over the past two decades researchers have developed remarkable new tools for probing the hidden or subliminal workings of the mind. The result of this explosion of research is a new science of the unconscious and a sea change in our understanding of how the subliminal mind affects the way we live.
