The community is invited to attend one of three forums being held this week regarding the Owensboro Downtown Plan. The events are being held at the following locations.

  • Wednesday, August 24
    6-8 p.m., RiverPark Center
  • Thursday, August 25
    6-8 p.m., RiverPark Center
  • Friday, August 26
    6-8 p.m., WKU-O

Topics to be covered:

  • Events Center: What size should be built?
  • Facility design (appearance, function)
  • Budget and funding options
  • Participants will receive a copy of the PowerPoint presentation.
    Questions and comments will be welcomed after each of the above presentations followed by an open forum.
  • Participants will be invited to complete a questionnaire at the end of the session.
  • City of Owensboro staff, architects, construction managers and
    market analysts will be available to answer questions or respond to
    comments.

Facilitated by the Public Life Foundation and the We the People.  Rodney Berry with the Public Life Foundation was a guest on the Joe Lowe Morning Show Tuesday and talked about the forums.

The forums were scheduled after the Chamber and Convention &
Visitors Bureau asked several questions about the ongoing downtown plan
and the proposed events center at a July 26th news conference.
