Girlfriends Day – Brett Got Short Notice

This morning I came to work around 5 as usual.  I got both of the radio stations prepped and Moon Mullins comes into the WOMI studios.  All is well, he tells me that there is a website that we can use that has some comedy on it.  Good stuff for the show.  So I get the password and the username to check out the site and login.  The first thing I see is "HAPPY GIRLFRIENDS DAY!!"

What?

I didn't know about this but apparently, August 1st is Girlfriends day.  And the entire month of August is Romance Awareness Month.  First Annual?  Perhaps.  I spent most of the show trying to relate every news story to romance.  Anthony Weiner was simple and I had to put a twist on the new developments coming out of France, dealing with the hotel jewelry store heist.  Obviously they stole all that jewelry for their girlfriends.

So what to do...  Flowers die, I know this. That seems like a solid option at this point though.  We'll see how it goes.
