I had the privilege of hosting the finale of Owensboro's Got Talent on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 and the 15 acts performing were SO good. Anybody could have won prize money. I said it on stage and I'll say it again. This was some of the most impressive talent I've ever witnessed on one stage. I didn't envy, Gordy Wilcher, Michelle Trenda and Steve Bridgmon, the judges for the night. With this talent competition, fans in the crowd also got to place one vote for their favorite of the night. This takes the pressure off of the judges a little. I also took away from the night, that there were many acts that I've never seen before. Ever and yet everyone seemed so poised and seasoned.

Speaking of poised and seasoned. How about an 11-year-old singer? Ava was back stage and I noticed that she looked very nervous. When she asked me if she was on stage next, I could just see the anxiety in her eyes. I gave her a hug and assured her that she was ready and to just do her best. I introduced her on stage and then walked backstage to listen. When she started singing, I looked around the room in disbelief. Is that voice really coming out of an 11-year-old little girl? Yep. it sure was and she left everyone speechless. To be honest, I wasn't sure if it was enough to win 1st place, as there were SO many great performances. I did know Ava would be in the running. Here's Ava with her winning performance!

2nd Place went to a newly formed group named, The High Life. They were SO good that I asked how long that they've been playing together. To my shock, the singer of the band said just 8 months. We'll be hearing more from them in the future. They won $500 provided by Aleris.

3rd Place went to an artist, who came back after not placing last year, to try again. I think it's safe to say that she made the right decision as Madeline Wilkerson won $250.

These are all of the amazing acts that took the stage at the 2019 Owensboro's Got Talent competition. I hope some of you will try again next year and I can't wait to see more of you in the future!
