You name it and the Daviess County Fair has it. Beauty Pagents, Food,Horse Shows, Food,Carnival Rides, Food,Tractor Pulls and Great Food. Did I mention Food?

The Lions Club Fair begins tonight, Thursday July 7, and tomorrow night,July 8,  at the Hines Center. That is for the Miss Daviess County and Miss Teen Pagents. The Hines Center will also be the location of the Open Talent Show on Saturday July 9, and Sunday July 10 for the Baby and Toddlers Contests and the Little Miss and Mr. Contest.

The Fairgrounds, just down 54 from the Hines Center will host the first 2011 Fair event Saturday at 1pm with the Western Horse Show.

On Monday July 11 all fair activities will be at the Fairgrounds in Philpot. The 2011 Fair Schedule features many favorite events and a few new ones.

Music this year will feature Country, Rock, Blue Grass and Gospel. Motorized events include: The antique tractor pull, Mud Sling, 4-wheel ATV Mud Sling, Demolition Derby and Roll over Contest, and Truck and Tractor Pulls.

Commercial Exhibitors, Carnival Rides, Livestock Shows, Garden and Crop Exhibits round out the 10 day event.

Food Booths are my favorite with corn, pork, fries, burgers, ice cream and a ton of other things. Perhaps TON is not a term to use when talking about eating.

WOMI and our Sister Station 92.5 WBKR will be providing listeners with daily updates on fair events. We also have some V.I.P. tickets to give away on the air.

For more information about events and prices you can go to the official Daviess County Fair website . So if you are looking for some family fun or a delicious corn dog or snow cone in the next week or so, come out hwy. 54 to Philpot and join us for the summertime tradition that is the Daviess County Lions Club Fair.
