On Season 19 of American Idol, Alex Miller, from Lancaster, Kentucky, stepped before the judges- Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan to audition.  When he was finished, Luke asked him "What  happens if you were ever to play the Grand Ole Opry." Alex quickly replied, "Oh, I don't know man. I'd die and go to heaven."

Well, Alex hasn't quite made it to the Opry stage yet (though that's likely going to happen soon), but he's got another big stage to play.  He's headlining tonight's Growing Stronger Together Concert at the Muhlenberg County Ag and Convention Center.

The event was inspired by the resilience of the community of Bremen, which was incredibly hard hit by the December 10th, 2021 tornado. The concert "will be a celebration of how the community and the countless volunteers and friends that met and came together like never before to provide support to each other."

American Idol's Alex Miller will be headlining the event.  He's taking the stage at 8pm and chatted with Angel and me about his big trip to the area.

There will also be other acts as well and they'll be incredibly familiar to the crowd.  Muhlenberg County vocalist Ashley Mefford will kick things off with the National Anthem.  She'll be followed by Jay McElwain, Grayson Jenkins and Alex.

Jay is an agriculture teacher in Muhlenberg County, FFA advisor and also a singer-songwriter.  He has written a special song inspired by the December 10th tornado.

Grayson Jenkins is from Greenville.  He has released two albums to date and will be entertaining the crowd as well.

And Alex Miller is known for his appearance on American Idol and his love of classic country.
