Day of Fun Planned for Ohio County, Kentucky Teen Battling Brain Cancer
Alivia Faith Burgess was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma brain cancer in January of 2020. She's been fighting the beast ever since. A fundraiser is being planned to send her to the Smokey Mountains on her dream vacation. Here are the details and the list of performers set to take the stage at the "For the Love of Alivia" Fundraiser.
Alivia has shown such courage, heroism, and grace through her medical journey to date. She's been inspirational with that big, beautiful smile, but she's tired. So very tired. It's been a very tough couple of years, with many highs and lows. This is why we want to send her on a special vacation. She deserves a special day where we can celebrate her bravery.
Alivia Faith & Stacie Supporting St. Jude
In February Alivia and Stacie joined Chad and Angel for the St. Jude Radiothon. There wasn't a dry eye on that day listening to both of them speak about their cancer journey. Grab a tissue and press play to be inspired by their faith amid the fight.
In this segment, Alivia and Stacie share how they found out that Alivia had stage 4 glioblastoma brain cancer.
In this segment, Alivia and Stacie shared their journey after diagnosis.
And, here they share how their faith has guided them through it all.
For the Love of Alivia Fundraiser
Let's show Alivia that we're still standing by her side during this difficult time. Come out to Beef 'O' Brady's in Beaver Dam on Saturday, March 26th, 2022 from 12 PM until 4 PM. There will be silent and live auctions, a cruise-in, delicious food, and amazing artists that are lined up to play. Take a look at this incredible entertainment!
DAKOTA HAYDEN
What can I say about the talented Dakota Hayden? The last two years have been a whirlwind for this young singer-songwriter. In January 2020, he won a prestigious award being crowned as the winner of "Shine", a huge YouTube competition based on writing, music, and talent. That win, along with other factors, drove him to Nashville where he is currently recording his debut album. An album that will showcase many of his original songs. Dakota never misses an opportunity to perform when asked and has a jam-packed schedule of upcoming events. Over the summer he even opened for the Kentucky Headhunters which is one of my favorite bands. He's been a Tootsie's staple in Nashville. We'll also be sharing some incredible American Idol news on Monday morning. You'll be glad that you can say that you saw him "when". Dakota will take the stage on his 18th birthday at 12:00.
EVAN MASSEY
We're so excited that Evan Massey is coming to Beaver Dam to put on a show for us. Alivia's diagnosis hits close to home for Evan and his family. He didn't hesitate when agreeing to perform. His family is already raising money for Alivia to share at the fundraiser. He's is so talented and plays at venues all over the tri-state and beyond. He's opened for Jason Michael Carroll and Deana Carter. We look forward to hearing him take the stage on March 26th at 1:00.
ANNABEL WHITLEDGE
Starting at 2:00, Annabel Whitledge will perform, and you're in for a treat. I've followed Annabel for years and she's one heck of a songwriter, singer, and performer. After the success of her debut album, she's in the studio recording a new record. Two years ago she won the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for songwriting with her single 'No Strings', which is also the title of her debut album. Annabel has performed on some of the biggest stages all over the tri-state, Nashville, and beyond. Opening for some major country artists as well. Her star is on the rise and we're just fortunate that she'll be at the event playing for us.
STEVE BRIDGMON
Steve Bridgmon will take us to the church beginning at 3:00. This contemporary Christian artist tours all over from Michigan to Nashville, and everywhere in between. His latest single, Jesus Loves Me recently rose to #1 on Contemporary Christian Radio, and it's just one of his many big hits. Steve is currently writing an autobiography and is working on new music. His inspiring life, deep-rooted faith, and amazing voice are something you won't want to miss! His powerful voice will close out the fundraiser for Alivia Faith.
For the Love of Alivia & Chrome Cruise-In
Awards will be handed out for the Top 10 at the cruise-in. All makes and models are welcome to attend. Come out for some fun at Beef 'O' Brady's in Downtown Beaver Dam. Let's send Alivia on an amazing vacation!
Alivia showed her fierceness in this post at the end of 2020.
"This year has slapped me in the face many times and hugged me too. I’ve gotten to meet amazing people, share the new chapter of my life, and tell people God’s got this. This year people may say it wasn’t my year, but it was, the world threw cancer at me and I grabbed it and said “ that’s all you got?” So, yeah I’ve cried, a lot, but I’ve become a new me and a stronger me. And I showed people I may look like I won’t be strong, but my bite is worse than my bark. So what I got from this terrible year for not just me, but for everyone else, is don’t hold back and do what you think right, cry when you need to, stand up for what you believe in, but at the same time listen to others. Thank you everyone for supporting me and please keep doing it because the fight isn’t over. I love you all and keep praying for next year and let’s see us kick cancer’s butt." #livingstrong4liv
