It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas in Beaver Dam, Kentucky
You know the song lyrics, right? "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Everywhere you go." Well, that's about to be really true if the places you go include Beaver Dam, Kentucky.
Beaver Dam Tourism has announced plans for the Beaver Dam Christmas Festival, a big two-day event that's going to get everyone in Ohio County in the Christmas spirit. You're asked to "make plans . . . to celebrate the season!" There's no doubt there's going to be fun for the whole family.
The plans for the festival include the official Christmas tree lighting, live music, a Jingle Bell Jog 5K and, of course, the annual Beaver Dam Christmas Parade.
Here's a look at the full schedule for the event.
I have to give some mad props to the Beaver Dam Tourist Commission. When it came to choosing the free movies for this year's festival, they nailed them. They're showing two Christmas classics.
First, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
And, one of my personal all-time favorites, The Polar Express.
I'll admit it. I cried at the end of that movie.
Also, a quick note about the annual Christmas Parade. This year's event will be live streamed on the Beaver Dam Tourism Facebook page. You can certainly watch from the comfort of your own home if your prefer.
Or, better yet, you can come be part of the festivities. Entries are still being accepted for the parade. You can call City Hall at 270-274-7106 to enter a float in the parade. And, yes! There are cash prizes up for grabs for the top three floats.
