The recent events that have been happening in the glorious world of professional sports have changed my mind a little bit about some of the role models I chose as a child.  The drama in the PGA right now between Tiger and Sergio makes me shake my head and roll my eyes at the same time.  And learning what Fuzzy Zoller 16 years ago notched him down the list of my role models.

Fuzzy Zoller of the PGA was a role model for me.  I consider myself a golf fan... Im a golf fan.  My dad brought me up around the great sport of golf and as a kid I thought Fuzzy was the coolest name in the world.  Also my father builds golf courses so golf is definitely a strong point in my life.  Dad has this picture of when he was in his late 20's maybe early 30's.  Hes standing with Fuzzy Zoller and Jack Nicklaus.  Greatest picture ever.

After Sergio Garcia made the statement about Tiger Woods, he came back and apologized for what he said and stated that what there was nothing racist about the statement.  Sergio was never really a role model for me.  He still seems kind of new to me for some reason.  Tiger however (whether or not he did what he did to his wife) doesn't deserve negative feedback from fellow golfers, especially one who is farther down the chain.

Jose Canseco now in the news.  Big role model for me as a child.  Especially when I played little league baseball.  Now he is in the news because someone turned him in for allegedly sexually assaulting them.  He then went on twitter and went on a rage saying that it wasn't true and posting pictures of the woman who is thought to be the woman that turned him in.  Also putting the woman's phone number on the website as well.

It seems that the role models I chose as a kid are falling apart.  Luckily i still have some of the best still working hard to make sure kids still love them.  Michael Jordan has always topped the list for me.
