The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are reporting higher than typical flu activity for this time of year.  In fact, four states are already seeing high flu activity.  Another five states are experiencing moderate outbreaks.  And, unfortunately, Kentucky is one of them.

According the CDC, four states are currently experiencing high influenza activity.  Those states are Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and South Carolina.  Five additional states are experiencing moderate outbreaks: Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Arizona and Alaska.

Of course, the states highlighted in red and orange are the states with high rates of flu.  States highlighted in orange indicated areas with moderate outbreaks.

The CDC reminds you that the best way to combat the flu is to get a flu vaccine.  That recommendation applies to everyone six months or older.
