Sanitation: Due to the Thanksgiving holiday the city will modify the sanitation collection schedule for residential and commercial customers.

Normal trash collection will continue Monday thru Wednesday, November 21-23. There will be no trash collection on Thanksgiving Day the 24th. Thursday routes will be collected on Friday the 25. Friday routes will be collected Saturday November 26. Saturday commercial routes will be collected as usual.

Residents are reminded that the city's cost-saving automated system and low sanitation rates do not allow for extra trash to be piled on, in or around the mobile cart. Lids must be closed for collection. Please be sure that carts open towards the street and that there is at least a four foot clearance around the cart for the mechanical arm to collect your cart.

Since the holidays can produce extra trash, customers are urged to free up space in their mobile carts by using the Drop-Off Recycling Center at 1501 West 7 Street. The center accepts newspaper, cardboard, aluminum and steel cans, plastic soft drink, milk and water containers and magazines. You can also purchase special blue bags at the front desk of City Hall. They are $2.50 each (5 or $10). When placed near the mobile cart drivers will stop and collect these blue bags only. For long term trash needs, additional mobile carts may be rented for just $.97 per week.
