How to Graffiti a Kentucky State Police Cruiser and Not Get in Trouble
This week here in Owensboro, the Kentucky State Police are giving you the opportunity to Cover the Cruiser! You can be part of the mission for just $1 and all the proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Kentucky.
As a matter of fact, we just had a big Special Olympics event here in town over the weekend.
The photo above features Owensboro Police Department Public Information Officer Andy Boggess. This week, one of his compatriots in another law enforcement agency will be championing the exact same cause.
Our friend Corey King, Public Affairs Officer from Kentucky State Police- Post 16, will be hanging out with the cruiser at Casey's General Store on Southtown Boulevard here in Daviess County on Wednesday, April 27th from 11am to 2pm.
You can help "Cover the Cruiser" in stickers that cost just $1 a piece. You can purchase your ticket and literally "stick it to the cruiser." All the donations will help fund the mission of Special Olympics Kentucky.
In 2019 and 2020, KSP's Cover the Cruiser event raised over $30,000, which is incredible. The 2021 event raised just over $20,000 and the folks in Grant County banded together to raise the biggest chunk of that with $2,713 raised. In 2022, we're looking to Daviess County to top that amount.
Corey King joined us this morning to chat about the event and invite you to participate.
Cover the Cruiser is a week long fundraiser here in the Commonwealth and the cruiser will be making a variety of stops and appearances throughout the week. Again, a reminder, it will be at Casey's here in Davies County on Wednesday, April 27th from 11 to 2 CST.
