This is quite an accomplishment.  Sydney Higdon, a senior at Daviess County High School, has been awarded a prestigious scholarship from the Kentucky School Board Association.

Sydney has been selected to receive a $2500 First Degree College Scholarship from the KSBA.  She was recognized and received her award during a special ceremony Saturday.

Each year, the Kentucky School Board Association selects one female and one male student from the Commonwealth for this scholarship.  To be eligible, students must be the first members of their immediate families to receive a degree from an institute of higher education.  They must also have a score of at least 20 on the ACT.

Sydney is the daughter of Dan and Donna Higdon.  She's 17-years-old, is a graduating senior and is a member of the National Honor Society and DCHS Concert Choir.

Congratulations, Sydney!!
