DCPS Hosting Thanksgiving Food Drive Today
DCPS Family Resource and Youth Service Centers want families in need to have a wonderful Thanksgiving. So, they've decorated school buses to look like turkeys, and they want to stuff them full of food. Here's all of the details and locations where you can donate today.
Buses are waiting to be stuffed full of delicious food for Thanksgiving today. They are waiting for you! Stop by both Walmart locations in Owensboro and the Kroger store at Wesleyan Park Plaza from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 18th, 2020.
How about some non-perishable items, such as stuffing, gravy, canned vegetables, instant potatoes, cranberry sauce, cornbread and pie filling. Sounds like the makings of an epic Thanksgiving dinner. Not everyone can afford to set the table with this kind of meal, and that's not fair. You can help make a special holiday possible for many in the community.
"The Foundation for DCPS has worked with our outstanding community partners at Kentucky Legend to procure a donation of 2,000 pounds of ham, and Farbest is donating 200 turkey breasts, which will be the centerpiece in these Thanksgiving baskets."
