There’s a Big Patriotic Fireworks Show in Whitesville, Kentucky This Week
If you're looking to get a jump start on your 4th of July festivities, you can do it as early as this Friday. The City of Whitesville has announced plans for its 14th Annual Fireworks Show at Whitesville City Park and it's coming up at the end of this week.
You may remember that Whitesville's annual tradition, like most throughout the country, was sidelined in July of 2020 because of the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The city did rebound last year with it's thirteenth installment. This year, Whitesville's excited to have things pretty much back to normal. And, as expected, they're going BIG!
Mayor Patsy Mayfield is thrilled about this year's event, which gets underway at 5pm on Friday, June 24th. And, in true Whitesville fashion, there's going to be a lot more packed into the evening that just gunpowder in the fireworks.
Starting at 5, there will be live music from a variety of Whitesville favorites, inflatables for the kids and, of course, the famous pulled pork from Jerry Morris and the Angel's for Ashley Cooking Team. In addition to Jerry's world famous "butt", there will be additional food vendors serving up hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, cotton candy and more.
Mayor Mayfield joined us for an interview to give us a sneak preview of the 2022 celebration.
The 14th Annual Fireworks Show, which will be launched by my buddy Stuart Snow (who's awesome with fireworks and pyrotechnics), will take place at Whitesville City Park, which is located at 10345 Kentucky Highway 54.
