Former Florida Gal Turns Tragedy In Triumph With Amazing Gift Idea For Others

Everyone loves to feel special especially when they're sick, grieving, or maybe just because.  We've found a cool new gift idea we think you're gonna love too.

I don't know about anyone else but around this time every year, I get down in the dumps.  Maybe because it's in the middle of winter and I have the blues.  I don't often share that I'm going through it but apparently, my computer knew and sent me this sweet little website meant to boost someone's mood when they're down by sending them a cute gift box that is tailored to whatever they're facing.  I LOVE IT!

Spoonful of Comfort started from tragedy and has turned into triumph.  Marti Wymer is the founder and CEO of the company.  We found her story on the Spoonful of Comfort Website and had to share it;

In October 2007, I received the phone call from my mother that she had been diagnosed with Lung Cancer.

I was shocked, scared and panicked. The hardest part about hearing the news was that she lived in New Brunswick Canada and I lived in Florida. More difficult still, I had just returned the day before from a trip visiting her. With two young children in school, I couldn’t just turn around and go back.

I was so upset and felt helpless being so far away. I needed to “do something.” I looked into sending flowers or fruit, but nothing seemed appropriate. I wanted to show her how much I cared, and in some way comfort her.

I immediately thought of chicken soup – it’s what she (like many mothers) used to make to comfort me. And the idea for Spoonful of Comfort was born.

Sadly, Marti's mother passed away not long after.  She is now honoring her mother by making beautiful boxes of comfort for everyone's family and friends who are in need of it.
