Turn on your TV, and chances are you'll find a 'Golden Girls' rerun. The Emmy-winning series continues to inspire and to entertain longtime fans and new fans. One of the standing scenes in the show, besides Rose's inane St. Olaf stories, was the girls gathering around the kitchen table late at night and they would slice into a cheesecake. One fan is taking the world's obsession with Rose, Dorothy, Blanche, and Sophia to the next level, by opening a 'Golden Girls'-themed cafe in Washington Heights, New York. Picture it!

Michael J. LaRue was a close friend actress Rue McClanahan and as executor of her estate and the administrator of her will, he inherited all her personal belongings and show biz memorabilia when she passed in 2010. He plans to have Rue's piano in the cafe' for live music and he'll create at menu that will of course include cheesecake.

McClanahan's son Mark Bisch is LaRue's partner in the business venture and has said the Walt Disney Company, which owns the rights to the show, will allow the cafe' to manufacture its own 'Golden Girls' merchandise which means they can use images from the series. Betty White plans to attend the ribbon cutting for the cafe' when it opens in early September. Road trip!
