Hundreds of Seniors gathered at Panther Creek Park Wednesday morning for the opening ceremony of the annual Senior Day and Health Fair.

For many it was a time to socialize, get information on the latest health care, socialize, participate in the many activities, socialize, listen to music performed by a live band, socialize, and eat some mighty good Chick-fil-a food. Did I mention socialize? There was a lot of that.

The morning began with several local dignitaries addressing the crowd. 2nd District Congressman Brett Guthrie, Daviess Co. Judge Executive Al Mattingly and several of the days sponsors welcomed those in attendance and encouraged them to stay active.

Next came the events, I counted about 15 different activities and health screenings. Events ranged from BB gun shooting to shuffleboard. There was basketball, horseshoes, cornhole, archery, dancing (to the live band), nature hikes and frisbie golf.

A great lunch provided by Chic-fil-A. Following lunch some more activities before wrapping things up for another year.

The photos featured in the gallery posted here tell the story much better than I can. With the exception of one or two people almost everyone had a great time. (There is always one or two).

In the end I think even the one or two who were determined not to enjoy themselves, Did.
