The Affordable Care Act (otherwise known as Obamacare) is in full swing and the deadline to sign up for health insurance is quickly approaching.  In fact, people without insurance have until March 31st to sign up for coverage for face tax penalties.  To help make sense of the Affordable Care Act and educate people about the benefits of Kynect, Kentucky's Healthcare Connection, the Green River Area Development District is offering weekly workshops to help residents navigate their healthcare options (and there are a bunch) and enroll in a plan that will best work for you.  Here's the schedule of workshops for Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union and Webster Counties . . .

Tuesdays- 8am to 11:30am- GRADD Office (300 GRADD Way in Owensboro)

Tuesdays- 1pm to 3pm- OCTC-Downtown Campus (1501 Frederica Street, Owensboro)

Thursdays- 1pm to 3pm- Munday Activity Center (1650 West Second Street, Owensboro)

HANCOCK COUNTY

Fridays- 9am to 11am- Hancock County Senior Center (315 Ridgewood Road, Hawesville)

HENDERSON COUNTY

**Classes in each country will take place EVERY week through the end of March.**

According to statistics from GRADD, more than 200,000 Kentuckians have signed up for health insurance through Kynect, Kentucky's health insurance exchange.  About 75% of those have qualified for the expanded Medicaid program, with the remainder enrolling in new private plans.
