Grocery Store Etiquette: Are You Doing This Right Or Wrong? Does It Matter?
Y'all, I am absolutely shaken up. I found out today the day after my 43rd birthday that I have been using the grocery store divider all wrong and I'm struggling.
I THOUGHT I WAS GROCERY STORE ETIQUETTE EDUCATED
Today my life was changed in the craziest way. You know you roll on through life thinking you know a little bit about a little bit and sometimes a lot about other things. As a mom who has been to the grocery store hundreds of times, I was surprised to find out I have been loading my groceries after another person was wrong.
I never like to get super close to someone in the grocery line. I always try to wait until they are almost all the way finished before I start putting my items on the belt just as a courtesy and also not to crowd the person in front of me.
I always get super frustrated when the cashier puts the divider up against the sensor so the groceries don't go anywhere. OMG, it is one of my biggest pet peeves. However, they know what they're doing apparently because this is proper etiquette.
SOCIAL MEDIA DEBATE
While I always thought the divider when across the belt it is actually supposed to go up and down to provide enough space for the person in front of you and your groceries to be separated. It also allows for the sensor to stop the belt from crowding the cashier when they are finishing the person before you.
Just a few days ago on Facebook, a former WKU Grad and Arkansas Meteorologist, Ryan Vaughn sparked a debate which isn't hard but people are up in arms about how this little itty bitty divider is supposed to go;
People were actually mad at him for posting this. You have to see some of the comments LOL;
Which one are you? Do you use a divider? Do you even care LOL?!
