There was a high speed chase last night in Daviess County.  The Daviess County Sheriffs Department says the suspect is being treated for injuries. Here's what happened.

Deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle complaint at the 1100 block in Yelvington.  While deputies were addressing the complaint, they observed a car stopped in the middle of Highway 662. As deputies headed to investigate the vehicle, it took off at a high rate of speed heading north towards Maceo.

Due to the reckless nature of the driver, a pursuit was initiated and continued to head west on Highway 2830.

At the 2500 block of Reid Road, the vehicle went off the roadway, across a ditch, through a wooded area and came to a stop. Authorities immediately apprehended the driver and medical assistance was called to treat the driver for injuries.

The driver is currently being admitted to the hospital. Charges are pending at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
