Holiday World is hosting the 2017 JDRF One Walk this Sunday and the goal of the fundraiser is quite simple- to turn Type One Diabetes into Type None!  Here's how you can join in the walk and enjoy the day at Holiday World and Splashin' Safari!

The annual JDRF walk at Holiday World has become an amazingly successful event.  According to Lindsey Susott, Development Coordinator for the Indiana State Chapter, the Holiday World walk raises close to $400,000 each year. And the money raised at the walk goes toward life saving and life changing research for Type One Diabetes. And, naturally, the ultimate goal is finding a cure and turning Type One into Type None.

Check-in time for Sunday's one-mile awareness walk is 9am.  And the actual walk gets underway at 10:15am.  That walk takes place inside Holiday World.  Each participant is required to raise $100 per person and that fundraising amount covers entry into the event AND the park!  So, when the walk's over, you can stay and enjoy rides like Thunderbird, The Voyage, The Legend, Mammoth, The Wildebeest and more!

This year's goal is $394,000 and, as of the date of this post, that JDRF has raised $224,000!  So, there is still plenty of room available and teams are encouraged to get signed up.

In fact, one local team, Macy's Squad, is the top fundraising team so far for this year's event.  Macy Roberts was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes a few years ago and her parents, Gavin and Molly, have been dedicated to the fight . . . and this walk . . . since!
