Yesterday I visited Country Heights Elementary School where 5th graders spent the day doing a Revolutionary War re-enactment.  Students even participated in the Battle of Bunker Hill!

Talk about making learning fun!  The teachers at Country Heights are doing an incredible job.  The students also got to do several other activities throughout the day including candle dipping, battle reports/journal writing, medical station, painting shirts, and sewing.

They finished the event with the Battle of Bunker Hill.  Activities like these help to enhance not only gross motor skills, but fine-motor and manipulation skills as well.

Just another reason our Daviess County Public Schools are the best!  What a way to end the school year.
