It's springtime which means the flowers are blooming, the sun is out, and wasps are looking for places to make their homes! This past weekend, they were eyeballing my grill and my cat's outdoor house. Yes, we have a cat house. Don't judge me!

Anyway, I found something that actually seems to work. It's 100% natural and easy to make. You only need three things:

  • 4 cups water
  • Spray bottle
  • 1 tbsp peppermint essential oil (I got some from the Dollar General. I wouldn't waste my money on high end oils but you want to make sure it's pure and not an oil mix.)

My spray bottle was pretty small so I used about a tsp of oil with a cup of water. And then I sprayed the areas that they were buzzing around. Apparently, wasps and yellow jackets hate the smell. I will probably need to reapply in a few weeks but I'm really happy to not deal with the constant buzzing and feeling that I might get stung at any moment.
