From the Kentucky State Police:

Kentucky State Police troopers were notified of possible human remains located on Diamond Island in the Ohio River near Geneva Kentucky. A fishermen reported the findings Tuesday (August 9th) to authorities around 3:15 pm. KSP detectives and troopers arrived and confirmed the skeletal remains to be human.

KSP and the Henderson County Coroner’s Office have not yet determined the person’s identity, gender or causation of death; however, experts do not believe the body has been there longer than three years.

KSP and the coroner’s office has taken the remains to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further assistance. Results may take several weeks or longer to make a positive identification.

Should anyone have information on the found remains, we encourage all to contact KSP Post 16 at 270.826.3312. Or if you wish may remain anonymous, you may call 800.222.5555.
