The Annual Juleps and Jockeys event put on by the Owensboro Symphony Alliance was incredible. If you did not get box seats at Churchill Downs this was the BEST alternative and you didn't have to put up with Derby traffic.

The Hines Center was the perfect location with great parking, big lobby area, seating for a thousand for dinner, live music and dancing after the Run for the Roses projected on two 12 foot big screens.

I think I forgot to mention the Bourbon Bar, Mint Juleps, live auction and even a booth were you could support your favorite horse.

As you can tell by the photos posted many dressed the part with bright spring colors and hats, hats, hats. There was plenty to drink, eat and do.

I was lucky enough to be the guest auctioneer (helper) with all proceeds going to the Symphony Education programs. We raised between $4,000 and $5,000 plus whatever the silent auction brought in.

The big story was the Party. I have a gallery of pictures posted here so those of you who could not attend can see what you missed. Be sure to make plans to be with us next year.
