About a month ago, my Dad and his classmates held their 50th high school reunion. One of Dad's classmates is Larry Daniel from Hartford. He grew up close to where I-165, formerly the Green River Parkway, formerly the William H. Natcher Parkway was constructed. He shared these incredible photos of the parkway's construction.

The Green River Parkway opened in December of 1972.

Although the name William H. Natcher has disappeared from the parkway itself. There is a new sign as you head south, not far out of Owensboro, that reads "William H. Natcher Expressway".

In the picture description, Daniel says the photos were taken on a Kodachrome 64. They look fantastic. He also says the land by the parkway was strip-mined which I didn't know.
