This is fun! The Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center is partnering with Volunteer Owensboro for a truly unique campaign. It's called the Bigfoot & Banjo Blood Drive and it's the culmination of Volunteer Owensboro's "Serve Our City" initiative that launched during Spring Break. Here's how it's going to work.

Over the course of the next five months, there will be a series of three donation pushes. The first- underway now- marks the beginning of the Bigfoot & Banjo Blood Drive. Anyone who participates and successfully donates blood during this initial phase is going to receive some free swag.

The first piece of swag is this incredibly fun Bigfoot t-shirt!

Also, each person who donates will also receive a FREE pass to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum, which is situated in downtown Owensboro, the Bluegrass Music Capital of the World.

Like I mentioned, the Bigfoot & Banjo Blood Drive is comprised of THREE different donation opportunities and participants are encouraged to participate in all three.  The second phase will take place in 8 weeks, the third phase in 16 weeks. Anyone who donates during the initial Bigfoot & Banjo Blood Drive push is encouraged to make their second blood donation by July 3rd and their third by August 31st.

Donors who make that second deadline will receive a Bigfoot trucker hat. A successful third donation will snag you a red, white and blue Bigfoot ringer t-shirt.

The official kickoff for Bigfoot & Banjo Blood Drive is Saturday, April 8th from 10am to 3pm at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum at the corner of St. Elizabeth and West 2nd Street in downtown Owensboro.
