As we shed a tear over the season finale of our beloved Holiday Drive-In in Reo IN, we turn our attentions to another drive-in that will remain open and festive this holiday season.

When I've mentioned to friends that there ARE drive-in theaters that don't close at the end of October, I often get a similar response from all of them. "Well, that's gotta be COLD." Maybe they're right. But I also know this; I've been to the Holiday Drive-In in JULY and wished I had a jacket and longer pants. It can get chilly in the country late at night, even in the middle of summer. And then, of course, there's the obvious answer...STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE.

But maybe the air temperature doesn't matter, and maybe it's the perfect atmosphere for visitors to the Sauerbeck Family Drive-In in La Grange, Kentucky.

The Sauerbeck Drive-In has already set records showing Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which opened October 13th.

And now it's gearing up for heavy traffic as folks line up to see their favorite holiday flicks on the big drive-in screen on what the Sauerbeck Drive-In calls Retro Wednesdays.

It's a brilliant idea, and here's the main reason I say that. I never actually saw A Christmas Story or National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation on the big screen. I've only ever seen them on the small screen. And I can't be the only one. This is a great opportunity for folks to experience some beloved classics in a CLASSIC setting.

There was a time when it would have been unthinkable to leave a drive-in movie theater open into November. It's a good thing the Sauerbeck Family Drive-In disagrees with that notion.
